World Cup Day

Hamilton East School had a World Cup Day to celebrate our end of term.
Who do you think Room 16 supported?
Yes!
Did you know these facts...
Capital: Dublin
Population: 4, 109,086
Official Language: Irish/English
Favourite Sport: Rugby!

We had a class party with green food.
We had basil pesto from our class garden, we spread it on our sandwiches.
Yummy green grapes, kiwi fruit and green apples too.
Delicious!

We even iced our biscuits green and put sprinkles on top!
The whole school shared lunch together on the courts.
How many different countries can you see?

Listen to us cheering for our countries!

  1. What a great idea Room 16 to have a green party! You are lucky to have so many chefs in your class. I thought our school’s Rugby World Cup celebration was a lot of fun. The cheering for all the teams was fantastic.

  2. Hi Room 16
I'm sorry it's taken us ALL week to get to do our comments. It has been tricky to get access to the laptops. Now just at the end of the week we've got them. We guess you won't see these comments until Monday. By then we hope you will be celebrating the All Blacks as World Cup Champions 2011. Of curse we would have liked it to be the Wallabies but now that we are playing off for third place we hope that New Zealand will be the winners. It will be so exciting for your whole country if that happens. I wonder how you are celebrating the end of the World Cup at Hamilton East?

  13. Dear Room 3,
We have been away on holiday and it was very exciting to find all your comments when we came back to school. We all watched the Rugby World Cup with our families. We are very proud of our All Blacks. They won by only 1 point. We had lots of fun last term finding out about all the other countries in the RWC. There were 20 teams.
The All Blacks had a big parade in Auckland on Monday. Some of us were lucky enough to go. We got to see the World Cup on a truck with Richie McCaw. Mrs McKenzie has put a short movie on our blog for you to watch.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments.
