Statistics

We have been finding out about ourselves and each other for Statistics.
We looked at different types of graphing to share the information we have found.

We investigated and sorted what kind of shoes we wear to school.
We made a Pictograph to show what we found out.
We wanted to find out if we had more girls or boys?
We made a Bargraph.
We investigated where our favourite places to play were.
We asked each other and kept a Tally Chart.
Then we put our information on a Bargraph.

Multiplication

We have been making multiplication arrays in Maths.
Did you know that ...
4 x 3 = 12
and when you turn the problem around
3 x 4 = 12
the answer is still the same,
So ...  3 x 4 = 4 x 3
 5 x 2 = 10
 and 2 x 5 = 10   so...
5 x 2 = 2 x 5
We used animal arrays to show multiplication problems

Statistics

We have been learning how to
count
graph
and compare data.
We made a Pictograph with our shoes.
Which type of shoes has the most?
Which has the least?
What else can you compare and find out?

We sorted ourselves into groups of clothes.
Then we made a Bar graph.
How many children are wearing shorts?
How many children are wearing 3/4 pants?
How many children are wearing  trousers?
How many children are wearing skirts?
Which group has the most?
Which group has the least?
How many more children are wearing shorts than trousers?
What else can you find out?

Learning about Arrays in Maths

We have been learning about skip count and sharing.
We have 24 counters and children.
How can we share them equally?
Tui said "Give 1 to each person, until they are all gone."
So we did!

How many did each child get?
We made an array to show our groups.
so...
6 groups of 4 makes 24
6 x 4 = 24
and...
if we turn the photo around
4 groups of 6 makes 24
4 x 6 = 24
WOW!!!!
