It is Conservation Week.
This year the challenge is to show how much you love New Zealand.
People all across the country celebrate our native wildlife, natural areas
and the places that are part of our history,
by joining in conservation events and activities.

We had an art competition in our school.
We could create any picture or photo showing our school environment
We wanted to draw Mother Duck.
First we sketched her,
looking carefully at her feathers, the shape and colours.
Then we drew and coloured her.
We used 3 different browns to show her feathers.
Mother Duck on PhotoPeachHamilton artist Catherine Houston came to school to judge all the pictures and photos entered.
Guess who won prizes?

Wow! Room 16 we think you did really great artwork. We think your ducks are shaded really well. I really like Namrata's picture the best. I like the shape of her duck. She is a beautiful artist.

ReplyDeleteDid you know that the All Blacks won? When the All Blacks were playing France, I was saying "Go All Blacks!" and they won! I was saying "Yay!" when they won.
I think the All Blacks are going to win the Rugby World Cup this year. If they do win, I will be so happy!
