To celebrate National Poetry Day Room 16 created a class poem about our Cross Country Race
Cross Country Day
– by Room 16
Hamilton East School
Run
to Jono the Energizer man,
“Follow
me,” he shouts.
Jog
in a circle,
Turn,
turn, turn.
Can we have a drink of water?
Jog
to the white line.
On
your marks, get set…
Clap!
Run,
run, run.
Can we have a drink of water?
Remember
your L-shaped arms,
Run
like the wind.
You
can do it!
Puff,
puff, puff
Can we have a drink of water?
Don’t
stop, you can do it!
Wobbly
legs like jelly,
Peachgrove
students run beside to help.
Go,
go, go.
Can we have a drink of water?
My
heart is pounding,
Go
Room 16!
One
more hill, almost there,
Cheering,
shouting,
Yay! The finish line!
Mrs McK, pleeeease can we have a
drink of water?
