The Water Cycle - Precipitation

We explored how the Water Cycle works.

We made our own Water Cycles

When we boiled the kettle the condensation collected in the lid.

But how does it get back down into the kettle again?

Shaving Cream Experiment

We used shaving cream to form our clouds. Then we added coloured water to the 'clouds' to find out about precipitation.

First we sprayed the foam onto the top of the jars.

Next we dripped coloured water into the foam.

We added more and more...

A Colour Symphony Experiment

First we put the milk in the tray. We put the tray on the floor. Next we dropped the food colouring in tray. It did not move. What happened was Janine put dishwashing liquid in the tray. The colours moved around. It looked like a rainbow.

Frost

The ice was as crunchy as toast. It was sparkly and shiny. I picked some up and it melted in my hand. Carmalo, Regahn, me and lots of people played tag. It was super fun and puffing. We were all freezing and cold. The leaves were dripping cold water. I wanted to go inside.

Frost

It was under sub-zero, frost was crawling up my leg. My cheeks went numb and red. The grass was as cold as ice. The ice froze over like the water. I could walk on it. The ice covered the grass making it white like snow.

Frosty Morning

Today was a glorious frosty Waikato morning. 

For Writing today we explored the frost using our senses.  

Thinking about what we could 

SEE, HEAR, SMELL, TASTE ...

and definitely FEEL! 

Some of us were crazy enough to make 'ice angels'.

My First Time

I had my first time on my red skate board. Every day my mum alway lets me try and I thought it was a surprise for me. I tried to grind the rail. Mum was surprised and taking photos with a grey camera. I did it but... Oooh, ouch, thump, thump, thump! I fell of the skate board and the rail too. I had a sore on my leg, it was humongous. But I got back up and tried again and again and I did it! I felt proud and good. I said OMG! I did it!
