Quality Comments

We have been really lucky and are now part of a
Quad blog with three other schools.
We will be sharing each others blogs for the next three months.
This week we have been researching
how to write a quality comment on blogs.
We found this video from Mrs Yollis and her class.

We have made a 'Quality Comment' rubric.

How to Write
a Quality Comment
1. Start with a compliment
- be positive, be specific.
2. Add new information
- add new facts if you know them.
3. Make a connection
- share something you have in common.
4. End with a question
- get a conversation going.
5. Proofread your comment
- check capital letters and punctuation.

Our Blogging buddies in Room 3, Craigburn School, Australia have this presentation on their blog.  It shows how to use the comment box on our blog.  Now we can show our families and ask them to...

make a comment!

  1. Hi Room 16
We have used Mrs Yollis's video to help us with our commenting too. Didn't her students do a great job? Your rubric makes it easy to understand about commenting too. Do you use the rubric each time you make a comment?
We have enjoyed visiting your blog this week. You already feel like friends.

  2. Hi Room 3 and Mrs Nelson
Thank you for your specific compliment. We have enjoyed reading your comments and writing to you. We do use our new rubric when we write our comments. We are looking forward to commenting on your blog.

  3. We really like your ideas about writing comments on people's blogs. The video explained it very well. We have to read our comments before we post them and get them checked. Our teacher checks them at school and at home we get our parents to check so there are no mistakes. Have you looked at our blog?
