In Room 16 we love dancing to the song Brave by Sara Bareilles. We also think it has a really great message - to be who you are and be brave.
We when heard about the Connected Film Festival we decided to make our own Hamilton East School music video - although the original music video is pretty good too!
After brainstorming all the things that can be scary at school, we looked at what someone could do in that situation to be brave. We picked three of the ideas and made it into three seperate storylines, mixed in with words that hurt us slowing turning into words that make us strong.
We hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to be brave!
This movie shows how to be brave and I guess how to make friends. One of my favorite bits was when everyone came down the slide.
ReplyDeleteI struggled to see some of the words on the paper and I wonder what they all said. Could you help me in a comment? Thanks for being brave, making the film and thanks for coming to the film festival.
We brainstormed words that hurt us, then words that make us strong. We used these in the film. So in the film the words started off mean (words that hurt us), they got a little better and then they became the strong words.
ReplyDeleteWe did write some of the words on red paper but all agreed it was hard to read so we refilmed them on another colour.
On our class projector we could read the words but at the film festival we realised that many of the words couldn't be read. When we got back to school we discussed what we could have done differently to make sure all the words could be seen.
- Film the words up close.
- Mark a spot that the camera and the paper holders always stand on.
- Just used white paper.
- Make the words bigger on the paper.
- Coloured in the bubble writing in black so it stands out more.
Thank you Dave for commenting on our blog. We also have a movie of our trip to the Film Festival. Maybe you would like to check it out.
